I can definitely relate to the idea that creative insights come from a relaxed rather than focused mind (there's some good neuroscience evidence to support this too). My best ideas never come to me when I'm staring at my laptop at my desk!

Glad you enjoyed and I agree. It's a dance of focus and and relaxation, something that can get lost in work cultures that focus on 'the grind.'

Great read. Good to order the book. Curious if you can expound on the last bullet of an obstacle being “too much focus”... what was meant by that?

Sure. It means not always being focused on the issue at hand but seeking 'presence of mind' or empty mind, not active thinking but distraction during which your subconscious can 'work' and offer ideas (after having done focused work). The opposite of this would be grinding and trying to force creativity when it is not happening, that is 'too much focus'. I am working on another post on this but think of it as periods of relaxing the mind, tension and release.

I touched on it in a prior post: https://neckar.substack.com/p/cranking-the-learning-machine-up

Hey neckar

Looks like someone's impersonating you on Twitter and selling tips/stock recommendations in your name.

Maybe look into that.

Hi Shravan, thanks for letting me know. Do you know the handle? I've dealt with this dozens of times by now, sadly Twitter remains a good place for scammers.
