Hi everyone,
Last week, I visited a number of bars in Manhattan in search of a space for a happy hour. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this was not me. I just don’t feel at home in the boozy noise. It’s hard for me to be present and centered. So I scrapped the idea of a regular happy hour. Instead:
In-person events: I can’t wait for these to happen but I want them to be awesome and unique. I am wrestling with a concept but it will require private and quiet locations and I have to think about the right format (and schedule guests). A couple of readers have already graciously offered office or rooftop space. If you have access to a space for a small-ish event (say 1.5-2 hours, 10-20 people) and would be interested in hosting, please let me know.
Virtual/Zoom office hour. This will also happen but I’ve changed my mind on just ‘hanging out.’ I am chewing on an idea to experiment with. Stay tuned.
Save the date! I plan on having a private Zoom with my friend Alix Pasquet on May 2nd, 12-1pm Eastern Time. We are still sketching it out but the format will likely be a brief presentation and discussion, followed by audience Q&A.
Also, I should have been clearer about this: I view these events as a way to connect with and offer a space for my premium subscribers who support the work, which is why the RSVP polls were behind the paywall. I will send the zoom invite for the event with Alix separately once it’s nailed down.
